You’ve probably never heard of these 6 discoveries about sleep.

You have probably heard about avoiding caffeine at night, switching off your phone before bed or keeping the bedroom dark.

But sleep is far more complex than that.

Light, body temperature, your diet and even certain natural ingredients can all influence the way you sleep.

And some of these discoveries are so simple yet so little-known that you may never have thought about them.

1. Morning light can influence your sleep at night

It may sound strange, but a good night's sleep can begin as soon as you wake up.

Natural light helps your brain adjust the body clock that controls the cycle between being awake and asleep. Spending some time in natural light in the morning can therefore help keep this clock in sync.

Opening the curtains, going for a walk or simply spending some time outdoors can be an easy way to make this part of your routine.

The surprising part is that something you do in the morning can influence how you sleep many hours later.

2. Magnesium: a mineral that may be more important for sleep than you think

Magnesium is found in foods such as seeds, nuts, pulses and vegetables.

It plays a role in many functions throughout the body, including muscle and nervous system function. Because of this, researchers have also been studying its relationship with sleep quality.

Some studies have found an association between magnesium and better sleep measures, although the evidence is not yet conclusive.

In other words, looking after your sleep may also start with what you put on your plate during the day.

3. A warm bath may help you fall asleep

It sounds contradictory.

If your body needs to cool down before sleep, why would a warm bath help?

Because warming the skin can increase blood flow to the hands, feet and other parts of the body. After the bath, this may make it easier for the body to release heat, supporting the natural drop in body temperature that happens before sleep.

A review of 17 studies found an association between taking a warm bath or shower before bed and falling asleep more quickly, along with improvements in some aspects of sleep quality.

So a warm bath may be more than simply relaxing: it may help your body enter the natural state that comes before sleep.

4. Valerian and hops: a little-known combination

Valerian is well known for its traditional use in relation to sleep.

But did you know it can also be combined with hops?

This combination has been studied in people with occasional sleep problems. In a recent study, it was associated with an increase in total sleep time, without significant differences in some cognitive tests carried out during the day.

That is why the two ingredients appear together in some natural sleep products.

The idea is not simply to sleep for longer, but also to consider how you feel the following day.

5. 5-HTP: a substance involved in the pathway to melatonin

You have probably heard of melatonin.

But perhaps you have never heard of 5-HTP.

This substance plays a role in the production of serotonin and is involved in the biochemical pathway leading to melatonin, one of the substances that helps regulate the sleep cycle.

In a study involving older adults, 5-HTP supplementation improved some aspects of sleep quality, particularly among people who already had poorer sleep.

5-HTP can be found in some supplements.

It is another reminder that sleep involves far more complex processes than simply feeling tired.

6. And there is a way to bring different natural ingredients together in one simple routine

After discovering all these possibilities, one question remains:

What if you did not have to look for each of them separately?

That was exactly where we discovered Lunare.

Rather than relying on a single ingredient, Lunare combines different natural components in one formula, including 5-HTP, valerian, passionflower, chamomile, lemon balm, hops and Erythrina mulungu, among others.

And there is another difference:

Lunare is used as a sublingual spray, applied under the tongue before bed.

This makes the routine simple, without having to prepare teas or gather several different products every night.

Better sleep is about finding the right combination

The more we looked into natural ways to support better sleep, the more interesting it became.

Light, nutrition, body temperature and certain natural ingredients can all play a role in how your body prepares for sleep.

And rather than looking at each of these things separately, we found something particularly interesting: a formula that brings several carefully selected natural ingredients together in one simple bedtime routine.

It is called Lunare.

Lunare combines ingredients including 5-HTP, valerian, passionflower, chamomile, lemon balm, hops and Erythrina mulungu, among others, in a single formula.

And there is another difference.

Instead of taking a capsule or preparing a tea, Lunare is used as a sublingual spray, applied under the tongue before bed.

That makes it easy to add to your evening routine, without having to find and prepare different ingredients separately.

A simple discovery that may be worth knowing about

Perhaps you already have a few things that help you sleep better.

Perhaps you simply noticed that your sleep is not quite as good as it used to be.

Either way, discovering how different natural ingredients can support different parts of the sleep process can give you a completely different perspective.

If you have reached this point because you are tired of lying awake unable to switch off, waking during the night or getting up feeling as though you have not properly rested, it is worth taking a closer look at the formula.
